See All ReviewsIf you're Hispanic or look like you're from another country other than this one, I don't think this place is recommended. I went in and everyone stared at me in a strange, vacant way. The waitress seemed especially surprised. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like it's a place only for white people.
Whenever you are looking to kick the chain restaurants to the curb and try a terrific local mom and pop place, this is it. Being from the Midwest, we had to try to fried pork tenderloin. It did not disappoint. This thing was huge. I had to fold it in half and it was still twice the size of the bun. Their homemade slaw was delicious too. Our daughter just had a side of fries. I had to try one and they were very crunchy and delicious. The wife decided to go with the onion rings. After being blown away by the tenderloin, I was a little disappointed in the onion rings. The hospitality was as to be expected in a small town diner. Everyone at the bar greeted us on the way in, and on the way out. Brenda took care of us and always made sure our drinks were full. The unsweetened tea was perfect too. Tricia (the owner) was working hard in the kitchen and made sure everything came out perfect. If you are in the area to visit Bok Tower, or just passing thru, I highly recommend Al's Place.
Pork tenderloin and brewed iced tea were the best we’ve had in a long time! Reminded us of Indiana ❤️ and everyone was very friendly!!
